Ana Velázquez Colominas

Ana

With the aim of improving the work-related conditions and health of artists, Ana Velázquez studied dramatic arts, dance, singing, physiotherapy, posturology, prevention of musculoskeletal disorders, medicine in performing arts, emotional intelligence, and scenography ergonomics. Her job focuses on developing and making performing arts physiotherapy known at an international level, which has taken her to different universities, conferences, and schools in Spain, Latin America, Europe, and New York. She has received two awards for this task: “physiotherapist of the year” awarded by the CFC and “foment del treball”. She currently works in her private clinic in Barcelona where she helps artists in their treatment, injury prevention, and performance improvement. She is the author of the book “Com viure sense dolor si ets music” (“how to live with pain if you are a musician”) and co-author of “La por escènica” (“Stage fright”), both published by Robinbook in 2013.
